Fielding Graduate University – Excelsior University

ELM2 Advisors advised and represented Fielding Graduate University in its merger with Excelsior University. Fielding will merge into Excelsior and become the Fielding College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, carrying forward Fielding’s mission, faculty and academic identity — including the only APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program delivered through a distributed model.

The governing boards of both universities unanimously approved the agreement. The institutional accrediting bodies have approved the agreement, and it is awaiting federal approval.

Selected Prior Experience

Our principals led or advised these institutional transactions and transformations, some prior to the founding of ELM2 Advisors.

Salus University

Guided programmatic analysis and program design changes leading up to Salus’ merger with Drexel University and advised Salus through the initial stages of the merger.

Thunderbird School of Global Management

As President, worked closely with the Board of Trustees to develop the partnership process, to evaluate several options for merger, and finally to negotiate the agreement for acquisition of Thunderbird by Arizona State University as a quasi-independent operating school within the University.

College of Saint Rose

Conducted financial analysis of St. Rose’s programs and provided guidance for the restructuring of programs and departments to enhance the college’s potential for survival. Unfortunately, the college did not move aggressively and swiftly enough and ultimately was forced to close.

Colorado State University Global

Led design and build-out of CSU Global, differentiating an institution’s target markets through a purpose-built on-line campus, serving working adults and nontraditional students.

Sarajevo Graduate School of Business

Led development of the first Western-style graduate business school in post-breakup Yugoslavia, the Sarajevo Graduate School of Business, a partnership between the University of Delaware and the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, supported by USAID.

Tulane University

Led development of the strategy for the newly combined School of Science and Engineering as part of Tulane’s reorganization following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
